MAY BLOGFEST #3
I am often sickened by our interpretation of what God’s plan is for our life. We spend so little time with him we hardly know him. Our prayers are filled with fillers, our actions are self-seeking, and our love for the lost is superficial. We do what the norm is at the time, we do the least we can do and still have our place in the church. The least we can do. Yes, we are probably more pathetic than David ever was. Yet God loves us still. Amazing huh? Amazing because we can still recover. There is still time. If you’re reading this. Run, run to God. Ask him to forgive us. He will. Then spend some time considering our ways and our paths. Understand that this is no joke. Not something you can put off that you can fix later. For too many, the later never came. What do you do to make eternal contributions? Where is your heart when you serve, when you worship, and when you give your money? Don’t be fooled by the devil’s schemes. All have and do fall short. Thank God for grace. But you need to understand one thing. It’s all about the heart. When your heart is his so is everything else. Things become clearer. Things become less complicated and easier yet more productive. Strange. When we allow God to have our lives, every aspect of it, everything changes. I, we wake up with a spirit of hope for the day. Not a spirit of pressure but happy for the opportunity to share in his glory. This concept scares most of us right back into fear. We’re afraid of being judged by our friends at church. We’re afraid of taking the slightest risk of being perceived as bold for the sake of the good news. It’s like we don’t really believe its good news. It’s like we’re not sure, so we, like so many others stand idle by and watch as others mock those that do take the risk and sometimes we even join in. Mercy. Lay it down for once in your live and forget what everybody else’s opinion, thoughts, pressuristic imposed values have done to you. For a minute, lay it down and be your own person. Think for yourself. Listen to your heart, our spirit, and your connection to the savior and the life that he laid out for you.
