Camp Rowley

If you weren’t paying attention you may have chalked it up to one of those “lucky coincidences.” But God’s people see his hand as he makes the path straight. (Even though we may not see it clearly at first!) Hilltop had made an outstanding arrangement with one of the FEMA camps to provide our infrastructure support. This was a great blessing because more than 300 volunteers were scheduled to arrive in three weeks. With less than two weeks to go the camp personnel said that, because of circumstances beyond their control, they wouldn’t be able to help us. After some panic and much more prayer, God provided something much better. On 3 March our folks met with the Superintendent of schools for St. Bernard Parrish and we came away with an agreement to use the C.F. Rowley Elementary School for our operation. The school is less than four years old. The first floor has been stripped and de-molded. The second floor where we will stay, wasn’t touched by the flood waters. It’s clean and very spacious with nineteen 20’ x 30’ airy classrooms and a large open room for group devotionals and fellowship. The Operations Office will be on that same floor. It truly is an Awesome facility and a real gift from our Father.

this was posted to the Hilltop site mid March. Sorry I have been behind on the blogging. gena
