This Week

Hello everyone,

Tim left for New Orleans on Sunday. It is always hard to see him leave but we seem to manage somehow. Today he will be flying to Arkansas to attend the Worlds Mission Conference where he will be teaching a class on Youth Missions. Gayle will be there also managing the Torch booth. It is held at Harding University. As for me, I started my beauty class on Monday and I have 6 girls very anxious to learn. Two of the girls are from the class Gayla taught in Nueva Oriental last July. They are a big help to me as they already know how to give manicures and pedicures. Thanks, Gayla! The class will be our usual six weeks and they will get a certificate from the Mi Esperanza program stating they are qualified to work in a salon. Yesterday was fun, after our class we headed up to San Miguel to visit our sweet little friend Jonathan. He was very upbeat from the last time I saw him. He was counting down the days he was getting his body cast off. One more month he kept saying. His buddies showed up to say hello while we were there too. Melbin, his brother Jonathan, and many more had big smiles on their faces. They all showed us how many words they knew in English and told us what was going on in the community. It was a great visit. These boys have such great hearts. They have so much potential. I now understand why Mark and Lori got so attached to them all this summer. They brightened my day. As for my boys, they are working hard at school. It has been a tough year but they are really making an effort to study and make good grades. Dylan was in the track meet on Friday and got 1st place and second place in two of his events. Great job Dylan! Well, that is it for now. Lots of love to all,

Gena
